Judy Ruth Babcock

Judy Ruth Babcock of Kalkaska, formerly of Caro, passed away on January 27, 2023 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. Judy was born February 3, 1939 in Tawas, the daughter of the late Paul and Ruth (Lewis) Miller. She was employed at Tuscola County Abstract for thirty years. Judy was president of the Business and Professional Women, served as a Tuscola County Commissioner, ran for Tuscola County Register of Deeds, and was president of the Pumpkin Festival. Judy enjoyed going to the casino, card games, word searches, coloring, traveling, listening to old hymns and gospel music, and watching the Detroit Tigers and the Hallmark channel. Judy especially cherished her time spent with family and having family get-togethers. She also absolutely LOVED BABIES. It didn't matter whose, she just adored holding babies. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Joddy (Frank) Ehrenberg, Jeffrey (Marilyn) Babcock; son-in-law, Bob LaPratt; her partner for nearly twenty years, Lyle Murray; Lyle's children, Melody Delventhal, Pamela Murray, Thomas Murray, and Allen Murray; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sisters, Sandra King, Glenda Berlin, and Sharon Stanbaugh; several nieces and nephews; her dear friend, Margie Bell. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth; step-father who raised her, John Osborn; her father, Paul Miller; husband, Frank Babcock; daughter, Sally LaPratt; great-granddaughter, Madynn Maye Diem; and brothers, Paul and James Miller. A memorial visitation will be held at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The family was assisted with these arrangements by the Ransford Collon Funeral Home of Caro.
