Julia R. Brady, age 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at That Touch of Class A.F.C. Home in Caro, following a lingering illness. Julia was born June 18, 1920 in Detroit, the daughter of the late George & Josephine (Bendarski) Sokol, and came to the Caro area with her parents as a young girl. She worked at the Caro Regional Center as an attendant nurse and cook, retiring in the early 1970s. Julia was united in marriage to Keith F. Brady on April 20, 1968 in Caro. He preceded her in death on May 26, 1996. Julia loved to stay busy and help others, working several jobs at one time and volunteering for many activities in the community. She was also a member of the Caro VFW Auxiliary, a life member of the Polish American Club in Caro, and a life member of the VFW National Home in Eaton Rapids. Julia was a regular contributor to the Paralyzed Veterans of America and was the recipient of the Mother of the Year Award at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in the late 1990s. In her free time, Julia enjoyed crocheting, knitting afghans, working in her garden, cooking and collecting recipes. Julia is survived by one daughter and her husband, Barbara & Steven Olsen of St. Louis, MO; one son, Theodore G. Dorics, Jr of Caro; three grandchildren, Becky Dorics of Lakeland, Florida, Lt. Theodore G. Dorics, III, serving in the U.S Navy in New Jersey, Bryon Baker of Phoenix, Arizona; five great-grandchildren, Nolan, Logan and Bently Dorics, all of New Jersey, Clayton and Conner Baker, both of Arizona; one brother, John Sokol of Caro; one sister, Helen J. Kulpeksza of Caro and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands, Julia was preceded in death by three brothers, Chester, Edward and Stanley Sokol.
