Julia Mary DeSimpelaere, age 95, of Unionville, passed away Wednesday night, February 4, 2015, at Vadavilla AFC Home.
Julia was born April 22, 1919, in Bay City to the late Isadore and Eugenia (Kakhoven) Deveare. She married Albert Joseph DeSimpelaere. He died in 1993. Julia enjoyed farming, baking, pulling weeds, sweeping the shed, yard work, crocheting and playing euchre.
Julia is survived by her son, Gerald (fiancé LaDonna) DeSimpelaere, Sr., and daughter, Diane Hahn; daughter-in-law, Debra DeSimpelaere' grandchildren: Gerald DeSimpelaere, Jr., Edward DeSimpelaere, Tina Hahn, Renee Hahn, Steven Hahn, Julie (John) Cooley, Matthew Hahn and Lisa (Jacob) Legue; great grandchildren: Michael Gaeth, Benjamin Gaeth, Camryn Hahn and Christian Hahn.
Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Joseph DeSimpeleare; daughter, Dolores Gaeth; son-in-laws: Edward Gaeth and Francis Leo Hahn; grandson: Lyle Gaeth; 9 brothers and 2 sisters.
Visitation will be Monday, February 9, 2015, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing, from 1-9pm.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at Holy Family Catholic Church (Our Lady of Consolada Parish) in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at 10am until the time of service at 11am.
Burial will take place at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Unionville.
Memorial donations may be given to the Thumb Animal Shelter in Elkton.
