Julia Iris Fenningsdorf

Julia Iris Fenningsdorf of Fairgrove, age 78, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at her daughter's home in Fairgrove. She was born July 10, 1939 in Arcadia Township, Lapeer County, the daughter of the late Marvin J. and Edna P. (Cook) Goodrich. On July 19, 1958 Julia was united in marriage with Russell O. Fenningsdorf at the United Methodist Church in Lapeer. He preceded her in death November 1, 1998. Julia was employed for more than twenty-five years as a CNA at Bortz Health Care in Lake Orion. Julia loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and also enjoyed fishing, boating, crocheting, cooking, bird watching, flowers, and Detroit Red Wings hockey. She is survived by four children, Wannetta Fisher of Westland, Susan Wilson of Fairgrove, Eleanor Fenningsdorf and special friend, Adam Opperman, of Caro, Terry Fenningsdorf and fianc, James Randall, of Caro; "adopted" son, Robert Bigelow and special friend, Angel Novak, of Gladwin; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Russell Powell, John & Danielle Fenningsdorf, Andrew Powell, Dwayne & Samantha Wilson, Robert & Crystal Powell, Amanda Fisher and special friend, Mike Filkens, and Dennis L. Powell; twenty-one great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bud and Fred Goodrich; one sister, Charlotte White; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Julia was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Bernie Goodrich; and one son-in-law, Tom Fisher. In keeping with Julia's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Troy Parrish officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Julia I.
