Julia Ghersi

Julia Ghersi, 96, of Sterling Heights, died Friday, May 22, 2020 at home.

Julia was born February 12, 1924 in Paz, Italy to the late Petar and Josipa (Percic) Stoja. She immigrated to the United States in 1956 along with her husband and two children, settling in Warren. She was an excellent seamstress, sewing anything her family and friends needed. She enjoyed baking and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored her.

She is survived by her daughter Clara Brnjac and son Branco (Nadia) Ghersi; grandchildren Robert (Jeannie) Brnjac, Christina (Scout) Trim, Joann (Mike) Socha, Patricia (Jeff) King, Diane (Gene) Chabot, Emilia Ghersi and Christopher Ghersi; great-grandchildren Katelyn, Joshua, Ivana, Jackson, Andrew, Evan, Ellison, Amalia, Elaina, Gerard, Julianna, Stella and Sofia.

She was preceded in death by her husband Miro; sisters Marija and Amalia; and son-in-law Ecio.

Entombment will be Tuesday, May 26th in Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township.
