Julia Vera Wyman, 92, of Caseville, formerly of Saginaw and Palmetto, Florida, died Saturday February 4, 2006 at home under the care of Heartland Hospice.
Julia was born July 9, 1913 in Simsbury, Connecticut to the late John and Antonette (Salmonvich) Scepanski. The family moved to Caseville in 1921. Later she moved to Detroit and met her husband Jack Don Wyman, marrying on February 5, 1934 in Dearborn; Jack preceded her in death on May 30, 1980. In 1947 they moved to Saginaw. Julia worked at a pharmacy and then as a beautician until she retired. Upon retirement she moved to Florida. In 1996 she returned to Caseville. Julia was a talented crafter and artist. She enjoyed basket weaving, sewing, quilting, and china and acrylic painting. She had donated many of her quilts to nursing homes. She was a member of the Pioneer Club and the Elks Club in Saginaw. She will be remembered as a loving mother, friend and neighbor.
Julia is survived by her daughter Julia Maxine Wyman of Las Cruces, New Mexico; grandchildren Wendy, Dean, Scott, Danielle and Jacqueline; nine great-grandchildren; and brothers Tony and Frank Scepanski of Caseville.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, son Don, grandson Wesley Gushaw, and sisters Ann Kincel, Mae Dove, Phyllis Lillian Cormendy.
A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville with Chaplain Karen Bouverette of Heartland Hospice officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Garden in Saginaw.
Family and friends may gather at the funeral home from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Tuesday.
