June Ilene Gray

June Ilene (Higgins) Gray, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. June was born October 11, 1927 in Laingsburg, the daughter of the late Thomas and Maybelle Higgins. She was a 1945 graduate of Laingsburg High School, and graduated from the Lansing Business Institute with a degree in accounting. She was united in marriage with Robert J. Gray on July 30, 1949 in Laingsburg, and he preceded her in death on December 31, 1983. June was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Caro, serving as a Sunday School teacher, member of the Women's Association, and as an elder. She loved spending time with her family, golfing, baking and traveling. June is survived by two children, Thomas & Siobhan Gray of Gilroy, California, and Patricia Gray of Walled Lake; sister and brother-in-law, Vivian & Bob Lamond of Lansing; sisters-in-law, Sue Gray of Grand Blanc, and Dolores Gray of Caro; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, June was preceded in death by one sister, Charlotte Crittenden. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. Burial will follow at the Indianfields Township Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
