June Kautz

June C. Kautz, age 89, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, June 19, 2008 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility, following a period of declining health. June was born June 20, 1918 in Minden City, the daughter of the late Joseph & Johanna (Essenmacher) Jebraski. She graduated from Harbor Beach High School with the class of 1936 and was united in marriage with Carl Kautz on October 16, 1937 in Harbor Beach. He preceded her in death in 1963. June was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe for many years, and most recently a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro. June worked outside the home in a variety of offices and retail stores in Bad Axe for many years, retiring from McDonalds Food & Family Center as the manager of the Deli. June enjoyed dancing, gardening, playing her piano and traveling to be with her family as they settled in various parts of the country. June is survived by five daughters, two sons and their spouses, Joan & Jack Blake of Pt. Pleasant, New Jersey, Joyce & Gene Higgins of Columbia, South Carolina, Judy & Edward Shannon of Chicago, Illinois, Jeanine & Pat McGee of Caro, James & Felicia Kautz of North High Shoals, Georga, Jerome Kautz of Athens, Georgia, Jayne & Mark Yount of Bartlett, Illinois; eleven grandchildren and their spouses, Kathy & Dan Iftiger, John & Lisa Blake, Amy & Bill Bertles, Craig & Janet Higgins, Kristin Higgins, Shannon & Jim Merna, Ed & Tracy Shannon, Stacey Shannon, John & Leslie Garcia, Katie & Jeff Hinderer and Carrie McGee; thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Carl, June was preceded in death by a daughter, Jacqueline Garcia and by two brothers and one sister, Floyd and Wilfred Jebraski and Virginia True.
