June Shirley Putnam

June Shirley Putnam of Caro, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at her home surrounded by her six children. June was born December 26, 1931 in Saginaw, the daughter of the late Albert and Doris (Ruppert) Flory. On April 8, 1950, June was united in marriage with Peter Walton Putnam at the Wahjamega Country Church and the couple cherished nearly seventy years of marriage before his passing on February 25, 2020. June was passionate about teaching children God's message and was active in child evangelism, bible school, camp ministry, and traveling the area with the Good News Club. She loved traveling the country and the world with Peter, and enjoyed oil painting and creating other various forms of artwork. When she wasnt ministering or traveling, June was an avid gardener earning many commendations for her beautiful yard and landscape. June is survived by six children and their spouses, Aaron & Linda Putnam of Ada, Mark Putnam of Caro, Timothy & Myra Putnam of Cass City, David & Mary Putnam of Wasilla, Alaska, Melody Crossett & Dewain Jones of Snover, and Daniel & Jill Putnam of Caro; ten grandchildren, Paula, David, Jr., Jennifer, Hillarie, Nathanael, Luke, Kara Mae, Andrea, Samuel James, and Zachary Daniel; eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Joan & John Nagy of Frankenmuth, Joyce Webster of Millington, and Janith Rolston of Plymouth. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 20, 2021 at the Juniata Baptist Church in Vassar with Rev. Del Terpenning officiating. Burial will follow at East Dayton Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Juniata Christian School.
