June E. Rigg

June E. Rigg of Vassar, age 93, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2019 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro. June was born June 18, 1925 in Millington, the daughter of the late Seth & Lulu (Elsemore) Wilber and graduated from Vassar High School with the Class of 1943. She was united in marriage with Robert N. Rigg on October 4, 1947. Robert was a devoted and loving husband, caring for June after she suffered a debilitating aneurysm in 1991, until his death in 2007. In 1964, June, along with the late Lois Meyers, established JuLo of Vassar Bridal Shoppe. In 1977, June became the sole proprietor of the JuLo's and relished in the day-to-day contact she had with all of her customers. She was a natural people-person, and although her accident left her without the power of speech for nearly thirty years, her ability to connect with family and friends through her beautiful smile remained unaffected. June is survived by three children and their spouses, Jolene & Patrick Kennedy of Kalamazoo, Susan & Philip Marcy of Frankenmuth, James & Dairlis Rigg of Caro. She was also a loving grandmother "Nene" to six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. June's children and grandchildren celebrated her beautiful life at a private ceremony in Millington Township Cemetery.
