Karen Diane Thede

Karen D. Thede, age 80, of Caro, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at McLaren Bay Special Care in Bay City.

Karen was born in Unionville on August 4, 1941, to Donald and Marion (Russell) Strieter. After graduating from Unionville High School she attended business school. In the spring of 2021, Karen moved to Caro in an apartment and made many new friends and enjoyed her black cat. She enjoyed estate sales, "what's going on" phone calls, cooking certain foods, watching TV and in her younger years she enjoyed sewing.

Karen is survived by her husband, Bill; children: Lori (Craig) Yanke, Scott (Jennifer) Thede, Kelly (Larry) Thompson and Kevin Thede; step son, Terry (Patrice) Thede; grandchildren: Tyler and Brandie Yanke, Kyle, Heather and Amanda Thede and Sydney Bencheck; step grandchildren: Andrew and Kollette Thede; great grandchildren: Emma McMillan and Rhys Griffith; siblings: Jim (Kathy) Strieter, Connie (Dick) Gremel and Mary Jane (Charlie) Perthes; and several nieces and nephews.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law, Mark Bencheck.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 at Juengel-Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2-6pm.

Memorials may be given to the family.
