Katherine Marie Krebs

Katherine Marie “Sally” Krebs, 90, of Caseville, died Monday, April 9, 2018 at her home under hospice care.

Sally was born August 13, 1927 in Detroit to the late William and Catherine (Schulte) McKenna.  She graduated from St. Charles Borromeo High School in 1945.  She married Marvin Krebs November 6, 1948 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Detroit; he preceded her in death March 22, 2011.

Sally raised her family in Harper Woods while enjoying the family cottage on Sand Point built in 1955.  In 1968 she and her husband purchased a cottage rental business in Oak Beach, calling it Krebs Cottages, moving there permanently in 1982.  She was a member of St. Felix and St. Roch Catholic Churches and enjoyed playing bridge.

She is survived by her children:  Mark (Kathy) of Caseville, Kevin (Marisa Harris) of Port Austin, David (Wendy) of Port Austin and Susan (Dan) Niznak of DeWitt; grandchildren Benjamin, Sarah, Lorrie, Scott, Lisa, Matthew and John; great-grandchildren Camron, Jordan, Lexy, Layla, Andrew, Hudson, Max and Delilah; and special family friend Ken Stachura of Chesterfield Twp.

A funeral mass will be 10:00am Saturday, April 14 ^th at St. Roch Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Pare presiding.  Visitation will be 2-8 Friday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Elkton and an hour prior to mass in church on Saturday.
