Katherine Theresa (Mulrath) Wissner, age 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, in McKinney, Texas, and is now in the arms of her Savior Jesus.
Katie was born on May 16, 1925, in Spratt, Michigan to Nicholas and Theresa (Klopp) Mulrath. She married Owen Wissner on April 27, 1946, at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2010. They spent their married life in Bach, where she resided until October of 2012, when she moved to an assisted living facility in McKinney, TX, to be closer to family.
Katie worked at various jobs including the beanery at the Bach Elevator, custodian at St. Peters Lutheran School, and was a loving wife and mother. She was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Bach, and participated in their Ladies Aid, choir, and making quilts for Lutheran World Relief. She also enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards, and dancing…especially to polka music.
Katie is survived by her sons: Larry (Judy) Wissner of McKinney, TX, and Gregory (Carol) Wissner) of Champaign, IL; grandchildren: Ryan (Kristin) Wissner of Richardson, TX, Stacey (Chad) Coe of Carrollton, TX, Brandon (Danielle) Wissner of Elizabeth City, NC, Shaun Wissner of St. Joseph, MI, Jeremy (Jamie) Wissner of West Point, NY, Eric (Katherine) Wissner of Kalamazoo, MI; 9 great grandchildren: Kaela, Emily, Anna Mae, June, Owen and David Wissner, Michele (Tim) Carver, Ashley Coe, and Miranda (Sean) Cox; 3 great great grandchildren; brother, Nick (Carol) Mulrath of Howell, MI; brothers-in-law: Gerald "Red" Wissner and Vern Winter; sisters-in-law: Arlene Ross, Nina Alexander, Patty Sontag, Alice Wissner, Jean Wissner and Patricia Wissner; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 27, 2017, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing, from 3-8pm.
The funeral service will be Monday, August 28, 2017, at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Bach. Visitation will begin at 10am until the time of service at 11am.
Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to St. Peters Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice.
