Kathleen A. Longtine, age 81 years, of Sunset Drive, Caro, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. She was born on April 20, 1924, in Detroit. Kathleen was a graduate of Farmington High School. On June 22, 1946, the former Kathleen Logue married Robert F. Longtine. He preceded her in death on May 22, 2003. She had worked in the Willow Run Plant making airplanes during World War II while her husband served in the war. She had also been employed as a cook at the Farmington Hills Schools retiring in the 1980s. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed baking, reading and cake decorating. Kathleen is survived by three sons, one daughter, and their spouses, Roberta and Gary Curtis of Caro, Daniel and Tammy Longtine of Newago, David and Annette Longtine of Holly and Bryan and Cheryl Longtine of South Lyon; seven grandchildren, Mike, Mark, Adam, Jason, Lee, Marie and Joanna; one great-grandchild on the way; one sister, Eileen Campbell of California; and close relatives, Bob and Jean Nehring of Caro. The funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 7, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro with Rev. Dennis Kucharczyk officiating. Burial will be at Almer Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of mass at 11:00 a.m. There will be a Vigil Service Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
