Kathryn Manary

Kathryn Manary, age 71, of Sebewaing, passed peacefully away Friday, April 28, 2017, at her home, under the care of her family and Compasses Hospice.

Kathryn was born June 16, 1945 in Midland to the late William and Margaret (Wallace) Laney. She married James Manary on September 21, 1963, in Beaver Twp. at a Lutheran church. She retired from the Village of Sebewaing after 30 years and the Sebewaing Township Ambulance for over 29 years. Kathryn also taught CPR classes for 30 years. She enjoyed volunteering for many community committees, such as the Sugar Festival Committee. She was very passionate about her local community. She was very active with her grandchildren and loved them with all of her heart. She also enjoyed camping, working word search puzzles and baking. Her favorite saying was "God comes first, others second, and yourself last."

Kathryn is survived by her husband, James; children: Sue (Tom) Jane of Bay City, Donna (Todd Campbell) Manary of Sebewaing and Holly (Ryan) Henry of Sebewaing; grandchildren: Keagan, Jade, Olivia, Kody (Miranda), Kelsie, Riley, Jace, T.J., Mason and Auston; great granddaughter, Chanel; sister, Marilyn Putnam of Unionville; and many nieces and nephews.

Kathryn is preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Bill, John, Jim, Earl and Karen Laney.

Per Kathryn's request, cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation is planned for Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 1-8pm.

A memorial service will be Thursday, May 4, 2017, at Son's Life Missionary Church in downtown Sebewaing at 11am.

Memorial donations may be given to Bay Shore Camp or Compasses Hospice.
