Kathy Jane Deweerdt

Kathy Jane Deweerdt of Caro, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at McLaren Lapeer Region. Kathy was born March 19, 1952 in Detroit and grew up in the Royal Oak area. She was united in marriage with James Deweerdt on June 28, 1975 in Royal Oak, and he survives. Kathy worked for several years as a key punch operator and supervisor before becoming a legal assistant in the Detroit area. She and James moved to Caro in 2007 and have enjoyed time here since. Kathy will be remembered as a great cook who also enjoyed scrapbooking and searching family genealogy. Kathy is survived by her loving husband, James Camille Deweerdt of Caro; one son, James Robert Deweerdt of Georgia; two grandchildren, Winter Jane and August; one brother and his wife, Richard & Jodi Lawitzke of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. In keeping with Kathy's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
