Kelly J. Klimkowski

Kelly J. Klimkowski, age 42, of Milton, Florida gained her wings on September 28, 2021, after a hard fought battle with COVID, with her family by her side. She was born on October 26, 1978 with her twin, Kathy Klimkowski who claims to have "beat her out first". She was one of four children born to Robert and the late Sue Klimkowski of Unionville, MI. Kelly loved her family, her friends, and all of her visits home, that were always filled with epic adventures which she captured in her love of taking pictures. She loved to spend time with her twin sister and was an avid supporter of the Krewe du YaYas and the Krewe of Vixens as she loved to support the cause for Breast and Ovarian Cancer Awareness due to family history. She also enjoyed spending time with her dart family whom she met through various tournaments as one of the "wild ones". Her infectious smile will be missed by all. Kelly was employed at Walmart in Caro, MI for a couple of years before moving to Milton, FL. It is there that she found her calling to become a corrections officer and for the past 15 years she worked at Santa Rosa Corrections Institution, Santa Rosa, FL. Her job meant a lot to her and she was dedicated to her work and truly loved her work family, who knew her as Officer Klim. She is survived by her father, Robert Klimkowski of Unionville, MI; brother, Christopher Klimkowski of Unionville, MI; sister, Teresa Klimkowski (Mike Will) of Bad Axe, MI; twin sister, Kathy Klimkowski of Milton, FL; special niece, Mariah Will of Grand Rapids, MI; a very special cousin, Venetia Ballard and her daughter, Faith of Milton, FL; as well as many aunt, uncles, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her mother, Sue (Ballard) Klimkowski; maternal grandparents, Emerson "Spike" and Betty Ballard; paternal grandparents, Jess and Clara Story; special cousin, April Menominee; and goddaughter, Brooklyn. In keeping with her wishes, cremation is taking place and services will be held at Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton, Florida on October 23, 2021. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am to 12:00 pm to all who wish to pay their respects. The memorial service will follow immediately after beginning at 12:00 pm with a presentation by the SRCI Honor Guard paying tribute. A Celebration of Life will follow the memorial service at Kelly's favorite hangout, Ollie's Neighborhood Bar and Grill in Milton, FL. Services in Kelly's home town in Michigan will be announced at a later date and time. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to contribute to the Ovarian Cancer Research foundation or Keeping Abreast Foundation.
