Ken Daubenspeck age 82, of Caseville died Monday morning, April 28, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility, Bad Axe.
He was born May 30, 1920, in Detroit to the late Paul and Florence (Jakubiak) Daubenspeck.
After his schooling Ken entered the US Army and served under Gen. Patton in North Africa, returning home in 1945.
On April 27, 1946, he was united in marriage to Audrey Donnelly at St. Matthews Catholic Church, Flint. Ken and his father owned and operated P & K Garage, an auto body repair business. In 1953, he left the business and being work at Mitchell Buick in their body shop. In 1976, he retired and they moved from their Rochester area home to Canada Creek Ranch near Atlanta where they had built a retirement home. Five years ago, in 1998, they moved to Caseville.
He was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church, Caseville and the Canada Creek Ranch for 27 years, a life member of the VFW, Onaway Post # 5857 and the Knights of Columbus Councel # 8042 Caseville-Pigeon.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Audrey; his daughter, Ruth Beadle and her husband, Charles of Howell; five grandchildren, Teresa, Kenneth, Christopher, Tracey and Thomas; three great grandchildren, Alexa, Casey and Kyle and his brother, Paul (Julie) Daubenspeck of Boyne City. Preceding him in death was a daughter, Anne and three brothers, Ralph, Carl and Charles.
A funeral mass will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, May 1, at St. Roch Catholic Church, Caseville. Rev. Fr. Kenneth Yaroch, pastor will officiate with military honors and burial in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the family.
