Kenneth Middaugh

Kenneth Middaugh of Caro, age 59, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 4, 2022, in Bear Lake, Michigan. Lovingly referred to as Kenny by family and friends alike, he was born May 9, 1963, in Cass City to Dianne Middaugh and the late Theron Lee Middaugh. He graduated from Cass City High School with the class of 1982 and began a career in masonry shortly after. Ken worked out of the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local 2 in Michigan and spent thirty-two years in the trade, retiring on his birthday earlier this year. Kenny was united in marriage with Tammy Ledford on February 14, 2013, in Caro, and she survives. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, always happiest outdoors in the woods or on the water. He was a craftsman at heart and could build anything that could be imagined. He was such an enthusiastic collector of Coleman Lanterns that his family fears for the future of the company's stock price. Ken was a devoted family man and selflessly available to anyone in need. He looked forward to time spent with family at his cabin in St. Helen and working on building a retirement home for he and Tammy in Bear Lake. His sudden loss will be felt deeply by countless friends and family. Left to cherish Ken's memory are his loving wife, Tammy Middaugh, Special "T", of Caro; two sons, Carter Middaugh of Caro, Logan Middaugh and special friend, Kayliegh, of Caro; stepsons, Austin St. Denis of Howell, Jason Nicol and special friend, Sara, of Highland; mother, Dianne Middaugh of Cass City; siblings and their spouses, Cynthia & Mike Fields of Cass City, Jill & Fred Leeson of Cass City, Michael & Kristin Middaugh of Grand Rapids, Timothy & Kris Middaugh of Decker; father- and mother-in-law, Thomas & Sharon Ledford of Kaleva; many nieces and nephews; and his cat that is less than adored by Tammy. In addition to his father, Theron Lee Middaugh, Ken was preceded in death by two siblings, infant Theron Lee Middaugh, Charles Middaugh; and nephew, Chad Middaugh. In keeping with Ken's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life is being planned for Saturday, September 17, 2022, at the Colwood Church in Caro at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Crystal Wagner officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
