Kenneth Murdick

Kenneth L. Murdick, age 89, passed away Monday, February 18, 2008 in Brooksville, FL, following a period of declining health. Kenneth was born January 3, 1919 in Caro, the son of the late Charles LeRoy & Violet E. (Birdsall) Murdick. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from March 14, 1941 until his discharge as a T/5 Corporal on December 3, 1945. He was united in marriage to Freda Gaunt on September 13, 1947. She preceded him in death on June 10, 1989. Kenneth then married the former Betta L. Strahm in July of 1991. He was a retired employee of Covenant-Harrison Hospital in Saginaw and was a member of the Pleasant View Free Methodist Church of Mayville. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Betta L. Murdick of Brooksville, FL; two daughters and their spouses, Ruth & Ernest Watts of Lebanon, IN, Luella & Phillip Jennings of Millington; five grandchildren, Christine Ragains of Mulberry, IN, Matthew Jennings of Clearwater, FL, William Paige of Tampa, FL, Elliott and Jeremy Jennings both of Millington; two great-granddaughters, Savanna & Sierra Ragains both of Mulberry, IN; one brother and his wife, Harland & Grace Murdick of Caro and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his first wife Freda, Kenneth was preceded in death by their three week old infant daughter, Carol Murdick and seventeen year old son, Kenneth L. Murdick, Jr., his sister, Dorothy Stoddard and brother, Everett Murdick.
