Kenneth LeRoy Nowland

Kenneth LeRoy Nowland of Caro, age 90, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2026 while at McLaren Bay Region. He was born on May 13, 1936 in Evergreen Township, the son of the late Martin and Hazel (Neu) Miller. He was a proud member of the United States Army.

On December 17, 1960, Kenneth married the love of his life, Joan Gail Hartsell, in Saginaw. Together, they shared fifty-six years of marriage before her passing on March 6, 2017. They raised four daughters and built a warm and loving home filled with many cherished memories.

Kenneth had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and was truly a man of nature. He especially enjoyed fishing and took great pleasure in sharing that passion with his family. He loved spending time in the woods, whether picking berries or searching for morel mushrooms whenever the opportunity arose. For Kenneth, some of the best days were simply those spent outside, surrounded by nature and the people he loved.

Left to cherish Kenneth’s memory are his daughters, Michelle Noble, Sue (Ken) Davison, Wendy Nowland, and Robin (Daniel) Neahusan; grandchildren, Michael Noble, Justin Noble, Clint Davison, Ryan Davison, and Brooke Neahusan; great-grandchildren, Michael Noble, Jr., Karma Noble, Dayton Davison, Annalease Neahusan, and Brooke Neahusan; siblings, Don (Sharon) Nowland, Marv Nowland, and Keith Nowland; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Hazel Miller; and his cherished wife, Joan.
