Kenneth C. Yahn

On July 27, 1929, Kenneth C. Yahn was born in Bay City, Michigan, to Carl and Helen (Gunterman) Yahn. Ken died on January 6, 2016, at the age of 86, after a long battle with cancer with his family beside him. We want to thank Jennifer of A+D Hospice for her knowledge and loving care.

Dolores (Dody) Reszke and Ken were united in marriage on February 4th of 1956 and they were blessed with three children: Pamela (Patrick) Walsh, Amy (Patrick) Gruehn and Samuel (Barbara) Yahn.

The Navy was his choice following high school and he served during the Korean War. Post-Navy, Ken earned his degree in accounting. He worked with Karl J. Leppien, CPA, Kraft Tiling and the Cooperative Elevator in Pigeon.

Ken enjoyed his family and friends, all sports involving a ball, his 56 years in the Pigeon Lions Club-where he was Past President and served as Secretary for years-and was Lion of the Year twice, cheering on the University of Michigan teams (Go Blue!), membership in Scenic Golf and Country Club, his First United Methodist family and Happy Hour.

Ken is survived by Dody, his wife of 60 years, children, grandchildren: Jessica, Carolyn and Daniel Walsh; Nathan (Kamryn), Dustin (Brooke) and Jordon (Reneé) Gruehn; Kim Biskup and Susan Lynn (Brenton Coderre), three sisters Beverly Martin, Susan (Wayne) Frieders, Diana (Ron) Marquardt and brother-in-law Ron (Per) Jakubczak. Besides his parents, Ken was preceded in death by a brother -in-law Cloris Martin and grandson Jeff Biskup.

Per Ken's wishes he will be cremated. Visitation will be at the First United Methodist Church in Pigeon Saturday, January 9th, 11:30 with a Memorial Service to follow at 1:00. The family prefers expressions of sympathy go to the Pigeon Lions Club, A+D Hospice or First UM Church.
