Kent William Henne, 66 of Pigeon, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon.
He was born in Pigeon on July 26, 1947 to Kenneth John and Mary Louise (Jerome) Henne, and was a 1966 Laker High School graduate. On September 5, 1966 he was united in marriage to Mary A. Prutchick at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Pigeon.
Kent served in Viet Nam with the U.S. Army, and was an active Army Reserve member for over 19 years. He was a member of the VFW Pigeon Post 2236.
Kent worked several jobs throughout his lifetime. He worked as a farmhand, was a mechanic, and a supervisor at Active Industries in Elkton. He attended the Bay Port United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; four children, Deborah Lynn Henne of Caseville, Tammy Sue (Douglas) Leese of Pigeon, Michele Eileen Henne Snider of Commerce Township, and Matthew Paul Henne of Pigeon; eight grandchildren: Stephanie, Dorian, Devin, Jenna, Kyle, Emily, Letitia, and Logan; great-grandson, Roman; sister, Julie (Richard) Durkee of Birch Run; two brothers, Leon (April) Henne of Bay Port and Carl (Pam) Henne of Clarkston; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a nephew, Jason.
The Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 23, 2013 at the Bay Port United Methodist Church, with Pastor Brian Johnson officiating. Burial will be in New Bay Port Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family discretionary fund.

VISITATION AT BAY PORT UNITED METHODIST CHURCH:
Monday, December 23 11:00 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m.
