Kevin James Ravel

Kevin J. Ravel, 65, of Port Hope, passed away calmly Friday, February 28, 2025 at McLaren Hospital in Port Huron.

Kevin was born September 21, 1959 in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan to the late James and Anna Marie (Affer) Ravel.  He graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1977.  Kevin attended Northwood Institute before joining the US Air Force.

Kevin was passionate about music, cooking, pets, friends, and family.  Kevin enjoyed making people laugh, live music and concerts, and fun parties.  He relaxed by tending to his houseplants, hanging out on the beach, or a long drive to nowhere.

He is survived by his children, including Ashes Ravel of Grand Rapids and Steph Stender of Bay City; siblings Laura (Thomas) Burkhard of Sand Point and Keith Ravel of Imlay City; uncle Arthur Affer of Farmington Hills; beloved dogs Beijou and Esby, who miss him dearly; dedicated caregiver Laura Hallock; and many loved ones including nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends he gathered over a lifetime.  He was preceded in death by his parents and aunt Patricia Affer.

There will be a celebration of life, memory, and friendship for Kevin at Lewisville Smoke Food and Spirits on March 15th and 16th, 2025.  Arrangements have been made by Champagne Funeral Chapel in Pigeon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made to the family.
