On May 14th 2026, Kim Palmer gained her wings to heaven and now looks over all of us from above. Born on August 14th, 1961 to Don Gemmell and Carol Kreger of Cass City, Michigan, Kim was her father’s shadow as she followed him through life.
Kim’s life was full of new places and people. When the opportunity for a job opened up for her, she put her heart and soul into it, evident by her numerous awards and achievements, she so proudly displayed. Finally meeting Gary Romain in the fall of 2013, she found the one love she had always searched for, staying together to the end for 13 years.
Kim’s many joys were cooking, gardening, flower arrangements, and her love for her fur babies; Echo, Nell, Micky, and Abby. Kim’s love for cooking, evident by her 5 crock pots and 2 E-Z pots, was a joy with the aroma of cooking filling the house. Gardening and flowers were Kim’s soul refreshing hobbies. Her flowers were her passion and sense of calm in a chaotic world. Gardening and planting with her hands was a love nothing could break, the feel of the soil and the smell of the Earth brought peace to her soul.
Kim is survived by Gary Romain, who stood by her side for 13 years, her aunt Charlene Craig of Pigeon, Michigan, her cousin, Meredith Brown of Vassar, Michigan, her adopted family of the Romain’s and many more friends and family whose lives she touched.
In accordance with Kim’s wishes, cremation is to take place. Memorial contributions may be made to Cass River Pet Friendz and Laursen’s Veterinary Services.
Fly free, our love. We’ll miss and cherish you to the moon and back.
