Krista Leigh Counts (Horst)

Krista Leigh Counts, age 39, of Caro, formerly of Sebewaing, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012. Krista was born March 9, 1973 in Bay City to Michael and Janet (Gremel) Horst. She is a 1991 graduate of USA High School. On September 26, 1992 she married Keary S. Counts at St. John Lutheran Church – Kilmanagh. She like to draw, craft, paint, play board games, raccoons and spending time with her dogs, Teddy and Daisy. She enjoyed watching the Detroit Red Wings, especially her favorite player, Darren McCarty. She loved spending time with the loves of her life, her husband and her children.

Krista is survived by her husband: Keary Counts of Caro; children: Kyle, Tyler and Ryan Counts of Caro; parents: Michael and Janet (Gremel) Horst of Sebewaing, sisters: Amy (Kevin) Reithel of Unionville and Kathi "Boo" (Lou) Carson of Unionville; sisters-in-law: Katrina (Ray) Banister of Bay City and Gwen Roberts of Saginaw; grandparents: Vivian Horst of Sebewaing, and Don and Marion Gremel of Tucson, AZ, godparents: David and Karen Wible and Susan Gremel; nieces and nephews: Tony and Abby Banister, Katelyn and Meghan Reithel, and Olivia and Layne Carson. Also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Krista is preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Wilma Counts on April 6, 2012, her grandfather, Otto Horst and special aunt, Florence Bakke.

It was always a race between Krista and her dad to see who could say "I Love You" the most.

Memorial visitation Tuesday, June 12, 2012 from 3-9pm at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home, Sebewaing.

Memorial service will be Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Sebewaing. Memorial visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am. Pastor Bill Wright officiating.
