Kurt D. Mckenzie

Kurt D. McKenzie, 64, of Elkton, passed away, Friday, June 21, 2024 at home.

Kurt was born August 3, 1959 in Bad Axe to Max and Doris (Varney) McKenzie.  In 1977 he graduated from Laker High School and hitchhiked across the US.  He worked as a finish carpenter, including building his own home.  He was friendly and enjoyed meeting new friends and old.

Kurt is survived by his children M. Ryan (Mary) of Texas and Jessica (Matt) Pereira of Florida; mother Doris McKenzie of Pigeon; grandchildren Freyja, Autumn, Aiden, Lilliana, and Oliveah; siblings Kevin (Starla) of Elkton, Kent (Lori) of Pigeon and Kendra (James) Jickling of Marlette; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father Max and infant brother Keith.

A memorial service will be at 1:00pm Tuesday, July 9 at the Champagne Funeral Chapel with Rev. Karen Bouverette officiating.  Visitation will be 10-1 on Tuesday July 9th.

Memorials may be made to the Thumb Animal Shelter in Elkton.
