Larry A. Phillips

Larry A. Phillips of Caro, age 76, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 21, 2015 at his home. He was born September 22, 1939 in Brighton, the son of the late Aubrey and Lydia Lebith (Ball) Phillips. Larry graduated from Utica High School and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving for the following two years. He was united in marriage with the former Eunice Bowman on May 28, 1965 in Rochester, and she survives him. Larry was a construction laborer, and retired from Laborers' Local #1076 in 1987. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Caro, and a proud twenty-eight year member of CAKIMA AA. Larry loved to work and built three homes. He enjoyed fixing things around the home, clearing trails, cutting fire wood, and contributed countless letters to the editor in the Tuscola County Advertiser. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Eunice Phillips of Caro; one son, L. Jeffery Phillips of Caro; brother, Raymond Phillips (Barb); step-siblings, Glen, Doris, Donna, Jim and Danny. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by one step-brother, Dale. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. Burial will follow at East Dayton Cemetery in Caro.
