Larry G. Pitcher age 71, of Fair Haven Twp. died Sunday morning, March 29, at his home from respiratory problems.
He was born August 30, 1937, in Fair Haven Twp. to the late Floyd and Mabel (Deming) Pitcher.
After graduating from Bay Port High School in 1955, Larry joined the US Navy and served two years being honorable discharged in 1957.
On November 4, 1961, he was united in marriage to Phyllis L. Graf at the Bay Port Methodist Church. They lived most of their married life in Elkton and moved to Fair Haven Twp. in the mid nineties.
Larry was employed as a wire extruder at General Cable, Cass City for 37 years retiring in 2000 for health reasons.
He enjoyed watching all sports and westerns on TV and loved being with his grandkids.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis; three daughters, Lisa (Brandon) Stanton of Elkton, Tammy (Gene) Gwisdalla of Bad Axe and Michelle (Stacy) Jarson of Caseville; seven grandchildren, Mariah, Amber, Laechen, Bailey, Marissa, Kadie and Makenna; his brother, Ronald (Peggy) Pitcher of Cass City and two sisters, Thera Morgan of Pinconning and Norma (Don) Stewart of Caro. Preceding him in death was his brother-in-law, Sam Morgan.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 1, at Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton. Staff chaplain, Karen Bouverette will officiate with burial and military honors by the Caseville American Legion in Souletown Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 PM Tuesday and after 10 AM Wednesday.
Memorials may be given to the Michigan Veteran's Trust Fund or the donor's choice.
