Lauren Dawn Mallets

Lauren Dawn Mallets of Fairgrove, age 63, passed away after a courageous battle with lung cancer on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at her home with her family by her side. Lauren was born July 13, 1960 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Richard and Marilyn (Tabaka) Osborn. She graduated from Lapeer High School and went on to further her studies at Baker College. It was in Lapeer over a game of pinball that Lauren fell in love with Mike Mallets. They were united in marriage on January 22, 1983, and shared over forty wonderful years together. Lauren enjoyed gaming, loved to decorate, collected countless Pepsi memorabilia, and knew where all the best deals were when it came to shopping. She spent most of her time helping others and always found a way to connect and relate with kids, especially teenagers, when no one else could. Lauren loved to put on teen dances during the Bean Fest and wouldn’t let anyone go hungry. She was a “Village Mom” to so many and was always there to listen; she would tell you how it was, even if you didn’t want to hear it. Lauren had a heart of gold and made sure to put others first, right up until she physically was no longer able to. She was a hero to many and her legacy will live on in all who knew her.

Lauren leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Mike; son, Michael David (Tamra) Mallets; grandchildren, Nathan, Jax, Rylan, and Brielee; “adopted” daughter and best friend, Carolyn “Holly” Kuck; and countless friends and lives she’s touched.
