Laurence "Larry" G. Beatenhead, age 82, of Unionville, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2016, at his home.
Larry was born June 6, 1934, in Unionville, to the late Arthur and Mary (Rumble) Beatenhead. He was a self-employed farmer and was a salesman for Agrico. He was a lifetime member of Unionville Moravian Church, was an ACW Ambulance volunteer for many years, enjoyed deer, duck and pheasant hunting, fishing, snow mobile racing, scuba diving, played on many pool leagues, and was a member of the Gateway Sportsman Club. He enjoyed historical preservation activities, including the Octagon Barn and his homestead centennial farm. Larry loved to challenge himself with many different activities and hobbies.
Larry is survived by his children: Gail (Donald) Schmuck of Unionville, Sheryl (Dale) Dewald of Unionville and David (LuAnn) of Salisbury, NC; sister, Glenola Radka of Freeland; grandchildren: Adam Schmuck, Chad (Angela) Dewald, Diana (Chad) LaRose, Alyssa Evans and Michael Evans; great grandchildren: Blaine Schmuck and Molina Dewald.
A funeral service will be held Friday, July 29, 2016, at the Unionville Moravian Church. Visitation will begin at the church at 9am until the time of service at 11am.
Burial will take place at Demorest Cemetery in Akron Twp.
Memorial donations may be given to ACW Ambulance or Unionville Moravian Church.
