Laurie Ann Carr

Laurie Ann Carr of Cass City, formerly of Caro, age 65, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Medilodge of Cass City. Laurie was born January 15, 1954 in Lansing, the daughter of Alfred Carr and the late Gloria (Campbell) Carr Curran and was a graduate of Oxford High School in Oxford, Class of 1972. She went on to attend Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids and has been a resident of Caro since the 1980's. Laurie attended the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Caro and was an active member of the fellowship. She enjoyed bicycling, camping, gardening, and being in the outdoors in her younger years. Laurie was an avid reader, writer, and enjoyed photography. Laurie will be lovingly remembered and missed by her father, Alfred "Bob" & Betsy Carr of Tryon, North Carolina; two sisters, Jana & Ray Alvarado of Cameron Park, California, Jennifer Rumberger of Ann Arbor, and their children; an aunt, Betty Campbell of Otter Lake; several cousins; and many community members of Caro and Cass City. In addition to her mother, Laurie was preceded in death by her step-father, James Curran. In keeping with Laurie's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Caro. The family will be present to receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Caro.
