Lawrence Farnum, age 62, passed away on Wednesday August 11, 2010 at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was born June 12, 1948 in Pontiac, the son of the late Duaine R. & Dorothy Marie (Meier) Farnum, coming with his parents to Watrousville as a young boy and living in the area since. Larry served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. For over twenty-seven years, Larry was employed with General Motors, and later with Michigan Sugar at the Caro Plant for a period of time, before his retirement due to disability two years ago. He was a member of the Catholic faith and Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Caro and the Theron Atwood American Legion Post #7.in Caro. Larry loved cars, whether working with them or visiting car shows, as well as going to casinos, playing the guitar and making crafts out of wood. Surviving are three children and their spouses, Jeff & Amy Farnum of Caro, Christa Farnum Cragg of North Olmsted, Ohio, Amanda Farnum of Mauldin, South Carolina; the mothers of the children, Patricia Gettel of Caro and Sheryl Farnum Gonzales of Central, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Abigail, Carissa and Gregory Farnum, all of Caro; five brothers, sisters and their spouses, Richard Farnum of Vassar, Virginia Sue & Joe Raymond of Mayville, Patrick Farnum of Florida, Gerry Beth & Charles Buckel of Fostoria, Joe & Carla Gillespie of Vassar; one brother-in-law, Johnnie Randall and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by one brother, Duaine Tack and one sister, Beatrice Randall.
