Lawrence A. Koch, of Sebewaing, age 86, went to be home with his heavenly Father on Saturday, July 7, 2012. Lawrence was born in Sebewaing on October 2, 1925 to the late George and Milda (Kramer) Koch. He married Martha Sendtko of Saginaw on April 23, 1963. She preceded him in death on September 24, 1995. He then married Florence Schuler of Frankenmuth on February 14, 1997. Lawrence enjoyed all aspects of farming, be it crops or dairy for over 60 years. He was known by many in the community for his hay and sleigh rides during the events in Sebewaing.
Lawrence is survived by his wife, Florence; his sister, Doreen Schnitker of Sebewaing; son, Jerry Koch of Jonesboro, GA, a daughter, Melissa Koch (Jim Brody) of Saginaw; grandchildren: Crystal (Brad) Tippett of Sebewaing, Ashley Southgate of Caro; 3 great grandchildren: Ariana, Ashlynn and Landon Tippett; step sons: Brian (Rhonda) Schuler of Frankenmuth, Brent (Kay) Schuler of Reese and Brady (Lori) Schuler of Frankenmuth; 7 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Martha; his parents George and Milda, and a step son Bruce Schuler.
Visitation Wednesday, July 11, 2012 from 2-8pm at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing.
Funeral service will be Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.
Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Sebewaing.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
