Lela Marjorie Brown

Lela Marge Brown, 95, of McKinley Township died Thursday, December 29, 2011 at her home while under hospice care.

Lela was born March 15, 1916 in Huron County to the late Charles Leslie and Minnie (Gillingham) Williams. She grew up in Flint before returning to Huron County to raise her family. She was married to William C. Brown for over 50 years. He preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Bay Port United Methodist Church and a former member of the Bay Port American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed dancing, traveling and spending the winter months in Texas.

Surviving are her children Janice Wilding of McKinley Twp, William C. Brown Jr. of Tacoma, Washington and Robert (Karen) Brown of Juneau, Alaska; 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister Mavis Shimmons of Flint.

She was preceded in death by her grandchildren Cheryl Lynn Kundinger, Richard Allen Kundinger, and Marjorie Kay Wilding; brother Lloyd Bowman and sister Leona Goyette.

Memorial services will be 10:30 am Saturday, January 14th at the Bay Port United Methodist Church. Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville is handling the arrangements.

Memorials may be made in her memory to the charity of the donor’s choosing.
