Leland G. Morley, age 67, of Elkton died Wednesday morning, July 22, at his home while under hospice care due to sudden illness.
He was born January 5, 1942 in Cass City to the late Wesley and Lola (Roberts) Morley and lived in the Elkton area all his life.
After high school, "Lakers Class of 61", Leland hired in at Active Industries, Elkton. He was there 47 years, retiring November 31, 2005.
On June 10, 1961, he was united in marriage to Charlotte M. Clark at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Kinde.
Lee was a motorcycle enthusiast, he loved riding his Goldwing all over the state. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting and most especially, he love working in his yard. He had multiple flower beds, a small pond with waterfalls and an automatic watering system that he rigged up to keep everything watered.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Charlotte; three children, Tina Hance of Stella, MO, Tammy (Robert) Volmering of White Lake and James of Elkton; four grandchildren, Zachery, Becca, Kayla and Katie and two brothers, Arnie (Mary) Morley of Elkton and Walt (Tess) Morley of Abilene, TX. Preceding him in death was a son, Jim Lee and a daughter, Tonya Sue.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, July 25, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton. Rev. DeWeerd Smith will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton. Friends may call from 7 to 9 PM Thursday, 2 to 9 Friday and after 10 AM Saturday. Memorials may be directed to the family.
