Leo E. Fischer

Leo E. Fischer, age 74, of Sebewaing, passed away peacefully in his sleep Saturday morning at his home, September 5, 2015.

Leo was born July 2, 1941, in Port Austin, son of the late Paul and Dorothy (Talaski) Fischer. He is a United States Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War. Leo was a member of the Sebewaing VFW, Knights of Columbus and Holy Family Catholic Church in Sebewaing. He married Bonnie B. Sherman on August 15, 1969 in Sebewaing. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, gardening, canning, drinking coffee and socializing.

Leo is survived by his daughter, Amy (fiancé Donovan Selby), of Sebewaing; siblings: Paul (Dorothy) Fischer, II, Thomas (June) Fischer, Jerry (Valarie) Fischer; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie; step son, Gary Oesterle; and sister, Jean Gibbard.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing, from 2-8pm.

The funeral service will be Thursday, September 10, 2015, at Our Lady of Consolata Catholic Church – Holy Family Parish in Sebeawing. Visitation will begin at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Burial will take place at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Sebewaing.

Memorial donations may be given to the family.
