Leroy G. Schember

LeRoy G. Schember of Midland, formerly of Unionville, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021 at his home in Midland.

LeRoy was born January 29, 1945, in Bay City, to Frederick and Hannah (Gall) Schember. He is a 1963 graduate of Unionville High School. After high school he attended Ferris State University, obtaining a degree in architecture. He married Dianne Fritz on August 7, 1965 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Bach. She preceded him in death. LeRoy owned and operated Schember Builders. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, woodworking, going to the cabin up north, dancing and watching his grandkids in their activities. He served on the ACW Ambulance for many years. After moving to Midland, he transferred his membership from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville to Lord of New Life Church in Midland.

LeRoy is survived by his three children: Scott (Dana) Schember of Reese, Todd (Denise) Schember of Auburn and Brian (Michele) Schember of Unionville; grandchildren: Justin (Danielle) Schember, Ashley (Josh) Ritter, Bo Schember, Wyatt Schember, Tanner Schember, Adrianna Schember, Nichole Schember and Kennedy Schember; great grandchildren: Talon, Blake, Hailey and Clayton; brother, Michael (Beverly) Schember; special friend, Bonnie Bouza of Midland; and many nieces and nephews.

LeRoy is preceded in death by his wife, Dianne; parents, Frederick and Hannah Schember; and brother, Mitchell (Peggy) Schember.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Juengel-Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing, from 4-9pm.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Burial will be at Columbia Township Cemetery in Unionville.

Memorials may be given to ACW Ambulance or St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville.
