Leslie L. Houghteling

Leslie L. Houghteling of Caro, age 69, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Carey's Young at Heart Adult Foster Care Home in Caro. Les was born August 30, 1948 in Flint, the son of the late Lawrence and Isabella (Fader) Houghteling. He was employed as a meat cutter with Hamady Brothers and other retail grocery stores. Les enjoyed eating corn on the cob, gardening, fishing, and loved his cat, Baby. He is survived by two sons and their spouses, Scott and Sherri Houghteling of Flint, Chad & Patsy Houghteling of Columbia, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Haley Allen, Scott, Avery, Aaron and Zachary Houghteling; three great-granddaughters, Liela, Lucy and Cora; two cousins, Sharon Giddings and Wayne Fader; several second cousins; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Leslie was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenny and Dale Houghteling. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Pastor Marc Herron officiating. Cremation will follow the service with burial at Brookside Cemetery in Fairgrove at a later date. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Caro First Baptist Church or the American Diabetes Association.
