Lester Duane Bivens

Lester Duane Bivens, 71, of Kinde, died Saturday, September 8, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region Hospital in Bay City.

Lester was born December 30, 1946 in Pontiac to the late John and Vera (Edler) Bivens.  He graduated from Bad Axe High School and served in the US Army in Vietnam.  He married Beverly Hiller June 29, 1979 in Bad Axe.  Lester had worked at Active Industries, Harbor Beach Wire and Thumb Industries.  He enjoyed watching sports, especially football.

He is survived by his wife Beverly; children Debra (Kelly) Friday of Ubly, Leslie (Terry) Anderson of Flint, Lester Jr, Sharon (Jesse) Miller of Elkton, and Joyce (Henry) Slagter of Walker; many grandchildren; brother John (Sue) of Elkton and sister Judy of Pigeon.  He was preceded in death by his daughter Heidi and step-daughter Kimberly.

There will be a private family service.  Cremation arrangements are being handled by Champagne Funeral Chapel.
