Lewis J. Lester, age 79, passed away peacefully at his home December 17, 2008. Lewis was born July 4, 1929 in Marlette, the son of the late Lewis & Jenetta (Cole) Lester. He served for four years in the United States Army and graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in Education. Following graduation, Lewis began a teaching career for many years which took him to schools throughout Michigan. Upon his retirement, he began driving bus in Bellaire for senior citizens. Lewis loved fishing and sports of all kinds and coached football, baseball, basketball and track in his years as a teacher. Lewis is survived by three brothers and one sister, Leland Lester of Cass City, Leslie Lester of Marlette, Eunice Wills of Brooksfield, Florida, Richard L. (Delores) Lester of Kingston; one sister-in-law, Letha Lester of Florida; many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Lewis was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister, Eldritz Lester, Lawrence Lester, Louise Wilkinson and Jim Lester.
