Lila Collier

Lila Rae Collier, age 79, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at McLaren Bay Area in Bay City with her family by her side. She was born on August 28, 1932 in Sebewaing, the daughter of the late Arthur and Ella (Hintze) Hess. Lila was a Sebewaing High School graduate. The former Lila Hess was united in marriage with Clifford Collier on August 4, 1952 in Angola, Indiana. She was a housewife and mother, with her life centering around her family. Lila was a member of the Caro United Methodist Church. Surviving is her husband of over fifty-nine years, Clifford; two children, Susan Collier of Saginaw, Douglas & Terri Collier of Akron; three grandchildren, Thomas Collier of Akron, Shannon & Tony LaDrig of Saginaw, Kelli Jo & Nick Cragg of Linden; four great-grandchildren, Taylor and Andrew Collier, Kayden Cragg, and Lila Rae LaDrig; two sisters, Joanne Kitzman of Essexville, Carole & Wayne Lassiter of Caro; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Lila was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Lou Hess. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Gregg Mayberry officiating. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the charity of the donors choice.
