Lillian Kowalski

Lillian Kowalski of Caro, age 88, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at New Hope Valley Assisted Living in Saginaw Township, following a period of declining health. Lillian was born July 10, 1925 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Walter and Josephine (Dombek) Choroszynski. She met Stanley Kowalski while visiting Michigan, and on February 10, 1944 they were united in marriage in Caro. He preceded her in death on February 4, 2000. Lillian enjoyed bird watching and gardening. She was a member of the Catholic faith and the Polish American Club. Lillian is survived by five children, Ronald Kowalski of Mayville, Jo Ann & Dale Mason of Clear Lake Wisconsin, Donna Lee Zietz of Birch Run, Gary & Sally Kowalski of Saginaw, Kent & Rebecca Kowalski of Mayville; fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; her extended family, Denise and Ann; one sister, Lorraine & Roger Guiffaut of Niles, Illinois; one brother-in-law, Michael Kowalski of Caro; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home with Rev. John Weiss officiating. Cremation will follow the service with burial in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to Home & Hospice Advantage.
