Lillie Mae Foley of Caro, age 89, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro. Lillie was born September 2, 1930 at home in Pleasant Valley, Maryland, the daughter of the late Harry and Margaret (Groft) Geiman. She was united in marriage with John (Jack) Foley on August 11, 1956 and celebrated almost thirty-three years of marriage until his passing on August 2, 1989. Lillie was a homemaker and seamstress for many years and provided in-home daycare. She also volunteered for reading programs at Frank E. Schall Elementary in Caro, worked as a food demonstrator at Bill's Foodland in Caro and worked as an office assistant at Michigan Sugar Company in Caro from 1981 until her retirement in 1997. Lillie was a member of St. Christopher Parish in Caro, Red Hat Society, Knights of Columbus Women's Auxiliary Caro Council #3224, and The Card Club. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo, traveling, family celebrations, especially Christmas and St. Patrick's Day, and dressing up for Halloween. Left to cherish Lillie's memory are seven children and their spouses, Matt & Anne Foley, Maureen & Jay Tuckey, Mary & Brian Montgomery, Michelle & Tony Quick, Marnie & John Hacker, Mark & Jody Foley, Mitch & Mary Ann Foley; eighteen grandchildren and their spouses, Ryan & Tamitha Foley, Ross & Brittany Foley, Lonn Foley, Cara & Arthur J. Sobek III, Megan & Paul Anderson, Kyle Montgomery, Brittney Quick and her fianc, Andrew Hiser, Nicole Quick and her fianc, Chad Bennett, Katie & Dan Rinke, Leslie & Brandon Stec, Jennifer & Kyle Kowalski, Rebecca & Kyle Middaugh, Jacob & Katie Hacker, Alyssa Foley & Chad Buniack, Brandon Foley, Anesa & Kenny Trisch, Taylor Foley & Jason Sopchik, Brooke Foley and her fianc, Brad Leach; four step-grandchildren, Zachary Messer, Kristen Messer & Blane Boitel, Jessica Seigo & Isaac Mosher, Brandon Criswell; fifteen great-grandchildren with one expected in April of 2020; six step-great-grandchildren with one expected in May of 2020; one sister, Mary Ann Kelly; one brother-in-law and his wife, Patrick & Mary Ann Foley; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Lillie was preceded in death by her mother- and father-in-law, Leo & Helen Foley; brother and his wife, Edward & Millie Geiman; brother-in-law and his wife, Leo & Daphne Foley; sister-in-law and her husband, Leo & Patsy Novak; nephews, Dale, Rick, and Brian Geiman, Patrick Foley, Sr.; step-grandson, Devin Seigo; and great-grandson, Arthur J. Sobek IV. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Tuscola County Medical Care Community for their care and compassion during Lillie's stay. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Church in Caro with Rev. Jerzy Dobosz officiating. Private burial services will be held later in the day at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Caro. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Tuscola County Medical Care Community, Human Development Commission Adult Day Services, Thumbody Express, Knights of Columbus Women's Auxiliary Caro Council #3224, or the Alzheimer's Association.
