Linda Kaye Danks, age 58 of Pigeon, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at home.
Linda was born at the old Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon on December 16, 1958, and was the daughter of Robert G. and Roberta J. (Guisbert) Danks. She was a 1977 Laker High School graduate and a 1981 graduate of Western Michigan University, with a degree in fashion merchandising.
Linda worked for many years for Winkelman's Stores and Stride Rite Shoes. She then worked at least 15 years for Northwest Airlines as a service representative. When she was able, she enjoyed artwork and crafting. She also enjoyed traveling and reading. She dearly loved her leader dogs, Thunder and June Bug. Linda was a very social person with a unique sense of humor, maintaining her independence throughout the years as she lost her sight.
She was a member of Cross Lutheran Church, Pigeon.
Linda is survived by her children, Lindsey (Joey) Rumbaugh of Ypsilanti, Courtney Reed of Ann Arbor, and Zachary Reed of Ann Arbor; grandson, Parker Rumbaugh; her mother, Roberta J. Danks of Pigeon; sisters, Georgia Eierman of Tecumseh and Gwendolyn (Randal) Ovcen of Pigeon; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert, niece Brooke Reese, and nephew Aaron Ovcen.
The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 9, 2017 at Cross Lutheran Church, with Rev. Timothy Loehrke, pastor, officiating.
Memorials may be made to Pigeon Lions Club and Leader Dogs for the Blind.
