Linda Lee Hogan

Linda Lee (Zorn) Hogan, of Caseville, Michigan, passed away the morning of May 1, 2026, at her daughter’s home, surrounded by family, sunlight, and flowers.

Born August 14, 1943, in Marlette, Michigan, to the late Orville and Edith Zorn, Linda graduated from Marlette High School in 1961 and went on to attend Central Michigan University. She was a proud member of Alpha Chi Omega and earned her degree in Physical Education.

Shortly after graduating, Linda married Terry Hogan of Rolla, Missouri. The two began their life together in Kalamazoo, where Linda taught school and Terry worked at Meijer. Not long after, they made the decision that would shape the rest of their lives, returning to Marlette to join the family grocery business. What followed was a 41-year run as co-owners of IGA stores in Kingston and Caseville, where she poured her time, love, creativity, and dedication to community.

Linda didn’t just run a store; she invested her life. It was rare to visit the store and not see her moving around, right in the middle of it all: fussing over her perfect produce department, helping someone, catering, planning events, sometimes even choreographing a shopping cart routine for a parade. She held a firm hand in business and expected a lot from people, but that standard is exactly what made her stores, and her career, so successful.

In 1996, Linda and Terry moved full-time to Caseville, where she poured that same energy into the community. She joined the Eagles Club, supported local businesses, and served as President of the Chamber of Commerce, helping lead the creation of Shanty Days and playing an active role in Cheeseburger in Caseville. She believed deeply in showing up for the community that supported her and that was the backbone in most of her decision making. In business and in life, people came first.

Linda had a kind of energy that is hard to explain unless you saw it. She was always busy, always creating, always thinking about how to make something better. She didn’t do anything halfway, if she was involved, it was going to be bigger, brighter, and more fun.

Outside of work, she found joy in her impressive flower garden, traveling (Arizona held a special place in her heart) cheering on the Lions, Tigers, and (her favorite) Michigan State basketball, making lists, playing cards with her grandchildren, planning meals, going to lunch with friends, and spending time with her family. Even in retirement, she didn’t slow down. She stayed busy volunteering at the Helping Hands thrift store, working in the food pantry, and helping organize monthly food truck deliveries.

Simply put, Linda loved life, not in a quiet way, but in a full, all-in kind of way.

She is survived by her son, Sean Hogan; daughter-in-law, Andrea Hogan; her daughter, Niki Hogan; son-in-law, Pat Kennedy; grandsons, Gabriel (Andrew) Hogan and Aidan Lefler; granddaughters, Sela Lefler, Nola Hogan, and Whalen Kennedy; her brothers, Larry Zorn and Dennis Zorn; nieces, Kelly (Shane Rasmussen) Zorn and Lesli Zorn; nephew, Dak Zorn; and the best cousins a girl could ask for. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Terry Hogan; her sister-in-law, Kim Zorn; and many dear friends she is now reunited with.

Linda’s son, Sean, would like to sincerely thank Angela Hospice for their care and most of all thank his sister, Niki and brother-in-law, Pat, for taking great care of Linda for months, while making her feel at home, comfortable and loved.
