Linda Sue Wolford

Linda Sue Wolford of Pigeon, age 74, passed away with her family at her side, going peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 6, 2026. Linda was born on November 17, 1951, in Marquette, Michigan, to the late Edward and Ellen (Larkin) Wolford and was a 1969 graduate of Laker High School. She graduated with an associate's degree from Ferris State University and worked as a paraprofessional for the Bay-Arenac ISD for many years. Her marriage to Len Johnson, the love her life, brought together a beautiful family and their love for each other would inspire the relationships of all their children to come. Len preceded her in death on October 8, 2000. Linda was a faithful member of Salem Global Methodist Church in Pigeon, and her faith was foundational to her life and her values. She lived the kindness of Christ and put love into all that she did. Linda was kind and welcoming to anyone, inviting neighbors into her home for Thanksgiving and making sure everyone felt cared for with a big mom hug. No one left with an empty stomach! Her marriage with Len was filled with laughter and music, especially the Barbershop music Len took part in singing, and she taught unconditional love and support to all her family, becoming the touchstone for all the sweetness and caring that lives in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish Linda’s memory are the treasured members of her big, beautiful, blended family, including her children, Jennifer (Christian) Harger, Angela Hughes, Dave (Carol) Johnson, Dan (Anita Atkins) Johnson, Brian (Jenny) Johnson, and Kevin (Julie) Hughes; daughter-in-law, Sandy Johnson; grandchildren, Carter Hughes, Mason Hughes, Eric (Aubrey) Johnson, Ryan (Meredith) Johnson, Kelly (Adam) Brockway, Chris (Nicole) Johnson, Caitlin (Brian) Leighton, Austin (Ali) Johnson, Ashleigh Wilga, Thomas (Chuck) Johnson, Melissa Johnson, Nicole (Brennan) MacMillan, Kenny Hughes, Angie Atkins, and Adam Atkins; many great grandchildren; and siblings, Russ (Maggie) Wolford, Jean Webber, and Jan Heck; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Len Johnson; son, Mark Johnson; sister, Judy Wolford; and brother-in-law, Bob Webber.
