Lloyd Calvin Hockmuth, age 80, of Caseville, died Monday, August 20, 2007 at his home while under hospice care.
Lloyd was born April 3, 1927 in Detroit to the late Carl and Madelyn (Wainwright) Hockmuth. He grew up in Royal Oak and graduated from Shrine of the Little Flower High School in 1945. He served in World War II in the US Army, European Theater.
After returning from the service, Lloyd took a job as the surveyor for the city of Royal Oak, from which he retired in 1982. He was a long time member of the Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak.
After visiting Caseville for many years, he moved there in permanently in 2001. He was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church. He was an outdoors man, enjoying hunting, fishing and boating.
He is survived by his brother Carl and his wife Mary Jane of Rochester Hills and sister Diane and her husband Walter Annis of Oxford; nieces Marianne Kowalczyk and Janice Smith, and nephews Jeff and Tim Annis.
A funeral mass will be at 11:00 AM Friday at St. Roch Catholic Church with Fr. Ken Yaroch presiding. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield.
Visitation will be 3:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville and from 10:00 AM Friday until the time of the mass at church. There will be a rosary at 7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
