Lloyd A. Wolfe

February 24, 1929 — August 23, 2012

Lloyd A. Wolfe, age 83 of Adrian, formerly of Owendale, Michigan and Bradenton, Florida, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Hospice of Lenawee. He was born February 24, 1929 in Owendale, the son of Henry and Fredia (Decker) Wolf. He married Alberta (Ruth) Weidman on May 24, 1952, and they recently celebrated their 60th anniversary.

Lloyd was a current member of the Elkton United Methodist Church and formerly an associate member of the Clinton, Michigan and the Oneco, Florida United Methodist Churches.

Lloyd's three passions in his life were his faith, family, and farming. His faith he practiced daily with his daily experiences, in how his love for others was definitely known by all. He dearly loved the time he spent with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family. Farming was Lloyd's life. He attended "Short Course" at Michigan State University to learn more about agriculture and was active in the Michigan Farm Bureau (leading the Wolfton Farm Bureau Study Group for decades), and the Pigeon Cooperative Elevator. Upon his retirement from farming, Lloyd and Ruth relocated to Bradenton, Florida before returning to Michigan to be near their son, Mark. He was active on the board of the retirement community for many years in Florida and served as the board president in 2006.

In addition to his wife Ruth, he is survived by his sons, Daniel (Lisa) Wolfe of Evansville, Indiana and Mark (Karen) Wolfe of Adrian; his daughter, Karen (Robert) Martin of Harrisonburg, Virginia; his sisters, Ina Pearl Dye of Chelsea and Eileen Sasse of Midland; 11 grandchildren: Timothy, Andrew, Heather, Andrew, Brody, Colin, Lexie, Nathan, Christina, Deborah, and Stephen; and four great-grandchildren, Logan, Liam, Rhyin, and Abigail. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters Nelda, Jean and Karen.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at the Elkton United Methodist Church, with Pastor Gary Miller of the Tecumseh Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will follow at Grandlawn Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee Inpatient Building Fund; the Bay Shore Camp Capital Projects Fund, Sebewaing; or the Elkton, Clinton, or Oneco United Methodist Church Building Fund.
