Lois L. Anderson, age 86 of Caseville and Pigeon, passed away Friday, May 18, 2012 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe.
Born in McKinley Township on January 12, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Marie (Southworth) Henne. On October 26, 1946 she was united in marriage to J. Wayne Anderson at Hayes United Methodist Church, Pigeon. He preceded her in death on May 1, 1995.
Following her 1944 graduation from Pigeon High School, Lois attended Bay City Business School. She was employed by Dow Chemical Company in Midland until her marriage. She was a longtime member of Hayes United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She also was a life member of Huronia Chapter 81 Order of the Eastern Star, and a former member of Scenic Golf & Country Club. She loved to golf, play cards, spend time at the cabin up north, travel to Florida, and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her survivors include her children, John and Marla Anderson of Flat Rock, North Carolina, Chuck and Sue Anderson of Bad Axe, and Karen (Anderson) and Jim Elsesser of Springport; seven grandchildren: Traci (Anderson) and Rich Weisenbach, Kris (Elsesser) and Bill Nickerson, Ashley Anderson, Jeff and Amy Elsesser, Alexandra Anderson, Mariah Chappel, and Matthew Obert; three great-grandchildren, Anderson Elsesser, Caylor Elsesser, and Trenton Weisenbach; sisters, Carol Forster and Joyce (Vince) Smith; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Henne and Marion Henne; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tammy Anderson; daughter-in-law, Jill Anderson; sister, Onalee Bendry; brothers, Wayne Henne and Dale Henne; and brothers-in-law, Charles Bendry and Walt Forster.
The Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home, Pigeon, with Rev. Bruce Nowacek officiating. Burial will be in Grandlawn Cemetery.
The Eastern Star service will be 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 21.
Memorials may be made to Hayes United Methodist Church or Scheurer Hospital.
